Nepal Trekking Areas:

  • 1. Annapurna Region : Annapurna region is undoubtedly one of the most popular Treks in Nepal, yet it is also the controversial. Some people refer to this route as a ?highway? because of the large number of tourists one encounters during the peak season from March to May and September to November.Unfortunately the critics are justified. However, it would be a pity to forfeit the joys of walking and discovering some of the country?s highest and most spectacular mountains- the Annapurnas, Lamjung Manaslu, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhare (Fishtail) are just some of the peaks the itinerary attempts to cover.
  • 2. Everest Region : Everest Region is also known as the home of Sherpa people and the mysterious Yeti. The areas around Khumbu is commonly called as the Everest Region. This trek comprises not only the Everest Base Camp but also Namche Bazar, Lukla, Tyangboche and the whole Solukhumbu, which are at the lap of looming Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world and also the mount Ama Dablam . The trek to Khumbu area is not only famous for trekking and expedition but also for the Sherpa culture. One can enjoy and learn Sherpa culture very closely by visiting this region. The complete trek starts from Jiri to Lukla.
  • 3. Langtang Region : Langtang region trek is another popular trek in Nepal. Trekking in langtang region is easily accessible from Kathmandu. Straight north from Kathmandu is the Langtang- Helambu region which enjoys snow-covered peaks, a mild climate, and friendly hospitable inhabitants which makes it the ideal trek almost year round each area of langtang region itself is a good choice for those with limited time. One can make a trekking in this region from 3 days to 21 days. Normally in Langtang region is less trekked than the Annapurna or Everest region so the route and area are more silent so the trekking in this region can be an ideal choice who wants to way from crowded.
  • 4. Mustang Region : Mustang is one of the few places in the world that is still untrammeled by tourists, it is most important that the region be preserved its natural state. In common usage, the name Mustang refers to the arid Tibet like region at the North end of the Kali Gandaki, which is known to its inhabitants as Lo. Mustang is probably a Nepalese mispronunciation of the name of the capital of Lo, the city of Manthang. The name is pronounced ?Moo- stang? and has nothing to do with either the automobile or horse with a similar name. Officially, Mustang designates the district along the Kali Gandaki from the Tibetan border. The capital of the Mustang district is Jomsom; the region of Tibetan influence north of Kagibeni is generally referred to as ?upper Mustang?.
  • 5. Makalu Region : Makalu is one the untouched area in the northern side of Sankhuwasabha district. It is bordered by the Everest region on the west and Tibet in the north. To the east is Arun River and the south is covered by the Sabha River. Unlike the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), the Makalu Barun Conservation Project (MBCP) is set up a little differently. It is definitely heading down its own unique path. The major castes in this area include Gurung, Rai, Tamang, Chetri, Brahmin, Limbu, and Sherpa (Bota), almost numerically in that order. There are many ways into the Makalu region but the primary route is to fly into Tumlingtar (the only airport in Sankhuwasabha) and hike the trail from Khandbari to Num, then cross over the Arun River into the conservation area.
